Robert Bosch GmbH and Mercedes-Benz AG registered the most patents in Germany last year. This is now reported by the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA). In total there were over 42.000 patent applications in Germany.
The technology group Bosch has registered 4.160 patents - and is therefore the only one at the top. Car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz follows in second place with 2.046 patents. Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft (BMW AG) has registered around 2 patents and is in third place.
The German automotive industry once again dominated the number of patent applications in 2023. The top ten companies are exclusively automobile manufacturers and suppliers.
