The town of Süßen (promoted to a town in 1996) is located in the center of the Göppingen district, in the Filstal, on the old Stuttgart (50 km) – Ulm (40 km) thoroughfare. The A10 Stuttgart-Munich motorway can be reached quickly via the B8 federal road and the A466 Ulm-Würzburg motorway via the B7 federal road.
The approximately 10.300 residents have excellent opportunities to be active in over 70 clubs. In addition, there are a variety of cultural offerings and a number of public and church facilities such as a cultural center with a library and VHS, schools, kindergartens with all-day operations and care for under 3-year-olds, community center, community centers, indoor swimming pool, youth center, care for the elderly, central bus station, tithe barn, local senior council, social center, Music school and sports facilities can be used.
The traditional industrial community with around 3.200 jobs has developed steadily over the past decades. With its 1.278 hectare area, the town is located primarily in the valley, at the confluence of the Fils and Lauter, below the Staufeneck castle ruins.
The varied foothills landscape with its orchards and the contrasting beauty of the surrounding area ensure the good and interesting location of Süßen. The plateau of the Swabian Alb is easy to reach.
