The community of Sersheim is located in the Mettertal, at the foot of the Stromberg, which is generally known for its viticulture. The town has around 5.000 inhabitants and can rightly describe itself as a residential community with very special qualities that has all the necessary public facilities.
The community can boast well-structured industrial areas whose products reflect the performance of the local craft and commercial businesses.
Sersheim is particularly proud of its ecological awareness. Nature conservation and landscape conservation are very important here. This is reflected in the community's membership of the Stromberg-Heuchelberg Nature Park, the wetland protection and land consolidation measures, and the model ecologically oriented town center renovation. Sersheim became recognized and known nationwide thanks to its biotope gift to the Italian twin town of Canale near Turin.
Sersheim has been able to create an excellent infrastructure in recent years: the sports and culture hall, spacious sports facilities, its own blacksmith museum, a riding stable, a lake complex, a kindergarten and a youth center are available.
