For a long time, Möglingen was one of the most rapidly expanding places in Baden-Württemberg. The number of inhabitants has increased many times over since the end of the 50s and is now around 11.200.
Industry and commerce are very successfully represented in Möglingen. The convenient location of the extensive commercial area directly at the Ludwigsburg-Süd motorway junction makes Möglingen a sought-after business location. The second largest cooperative winery in Germany – the Württemberg Weingärtner-Zentralgenossenschaft – has had its headquarters here since 1968.
In recent years, the municipal administration has done a lot to ensure that the residents of Möglingen feel completely at home. 36 local clubs offer a wide variety of ways to spend your free time in a meaningful and varied way. Two sports halls, a tennis facility and a riding hall are available for sporting activities.
The center of public life is the community center, which was inaugurated in 1986 and offers space for a variety of events. The community's bi-annual cultural review provides information about the program. The 450-year-old, converted former tithe barn now houses the community library and gallery. The library provides all kinds of literature, magazines, DVDs, CDs and games.
There are seven kindergartens or children's homes for the youngest Möglingers. There is a primary school, a primary school with a community school and a special needs school on site, and there are very good school bus connections to the secondary school and high school in neighboring Markgröningen and Ludwigsburg.
The meeting point for young people is the Youth Forum (Jufo) with its many events.
