The town of Wiesensteig is a state-recognized resort, beautifully embedded in the upper part of the Fils valley. The community not only has a high residential and leisure value, but also has a wide range of offerings in the areas of trade, services, crafts, commerce and industry. Another advantage is that it is in the immediate vicinity of the A8 motorway.
Two thirds of the district area consists of forest and heathland. An extensive network of hiking, walking and cycling paths runs through the Alb plateau and leads to the most attractive viewpoints, such as the Reußenstein ruins with their famous climbing rocks or one of the caves with their stalactite formations.
But there is even more to discover: the residential palace, where concerts and events take place regularly, the collegiate church of St. Cyriakus, the medieval cityscape with its picturesque half-timbered houses or the elephant fountain on the market square. Numerous clubs and organizations ensure a wide range of cultural offerings.
