Hessigheim, a small community with 2.100 inhabitants, is located in the middle Neckar valley, in the Ludwigsburg district. The Swabian Wine Route, a true paradise for every wine connoisseur, runs through the middle of Hessigheim. Viticulture has a long tradition here and you can enjoy many a good wine in the Felsengartenkellerei.
But local crafts and small businesses can also be found in Hessigheim.
The smallest municipality in the district has become much more attractive in recent years and has experienced strong upward development.
Anyone interested in inland shipping can take a walk along the Neckar and visit the Neckar barrage and the Hessigheim lock. Another attraction of the place are the rock gardens towards Besigheim, wildly rugged, often up to 50 m high shell limestone rocks above the vineyards. A walkable path leads along the upper edge of the rocky landscape, which is approximately half a kilometer long. The rocks are also often used by climbers as a training area.
