Grossbottwar
The town of Großbottwar with its two districts of Winzerhausen, Hof and Lembach, is idyllically located in the Bottwartal, directly on the Württemberg Wine Route.
work and economy
Over the past decades, the community in the Stuttgart metropolitan region has grown steadily in terms of population and jobs in the areas of trade, crafts and services. With a total population of 8625 inhabitants (as of December 12), the healthy industry mix has 2022 employees in Großbottwar with its 2100 districts.
History
Worth seeing in the city, which is characterized by wine-growing, is the historic market square, which has become a real gem after its redesign. The historic half-timbered town hall from 1556 was extensively restored and - like the remains of the city wall on the southern edge of the city center - bears witness to Großbottwar's far-reaching past. The heraldic animal of Großbottwar is the stork, which has populated the fertile Bottwartal as a breeding and summer habitat since time immemorial.
Tourism
Großbottwar is part of the Marbach-Bottwartal tourism community and offers many offers for active citizens. Hiking, cycling and being active in Großbottwar and the wonderful surroundings can be easily combined with culinary enjoyment in the pretty half-timbered town in the middle of “Swabian Provence”. Day tourists or holidaymakers can experience wine culture around the city on the excellently developed network of paths, be it on the observation tower of a former castle on the Wunnenstein with the wine adventure trail around the Wunnenstein, at the Weinberghäusle on the Harzberg or in the nearby Bottwartal winery, where excellent wines are pressed.
