Erligheim, once characterized by agriculture and viticulture, is now a popular residential community with around 2.500 residents. Already mentioned in documents in 793, the community celebrated its 1993th anniversary in 1200.
Erligheim now has a primary school and a kindergarten with five groups. The August Holder Hall, built in 1974, sports fields, tennis courts and beautiful hiking trails in the 112 hectare community forest are available for active leisure activities.
Happy celebrations and warm hospitality attract many visitors to the fine wine town every year. The Erligheim street festival and the cherry blossom festival in the cherry complex are well known. Enjoying pure nature is the motto in the beautiful landscape on the slopes of the Stromberg.
