Deggingen is beautifully situated in the Upper Filstal, surrounded by meadows and orchards. Extensive beech forests with many hiking trails surround the community. Parts of the Alb plateau and the juniper heaths are under landscape protection.
Educational institutions such as primary, secondary, special, secondary and adult education centers are available in the town, as are doctors, dentists and pharmacies. The town also has several banks, a variety of retail outlets and inviting restaurants.
