Aichelberg lies at the foot of the Swabian Alb in the Göppingen district, where the Stuttgart-Ulm motorway takes its first climb to the Alb plateau.
The small community has a high recreational value due to its beautiful scenic location. Hikers are happy to take advantage of the opportunity to take relaxing walks. Thanks to the convenient transport connections - Aichelberg has a direct motorway connection - the community also offers all the advantages of a modern industrial location. Various industries such as the chemical industry, printing industry and metal processing have now established themselves here.
The community can look back on a long history. A castle settlement was built at the foot of the Aichelberg in the 13th century. The castle itself - built in 1220 - was the seat of the Count of Aichelberg. However, there are no ruins left today because the castle was destroyed in 1525 during the Peasants' War.
