The name suggests it: Remseck am Neckar, which today has around 27.000 inhabitants, is located at the confluence of the Rems and Neckar. It's not just those looking for relaxation that are in the right place here. Cycling and hiking trails lead along the Neckar through attractive landscape protection areas. The quiet, winding valley meadows of the Rems in the Rems Valley provide encounters with nature that have become rare.
Created in 1975 from the merger of the municipalities of Aldingen, Hochberg, Hochdorf, Neckargröningen and Neckarrems, five towns border the municipality immediately to the west and south: Ludwigsburg, Kornwestheim, Stuttgart, Fellbach and Waiblingen.
Pattonville, a former US Army housing estate, dates back to the 50s and was incorporated into the community as the sixth district. An extension of the U 14 light rail line to Remseck am Neckar has been in operation since 1999.
The city's economic structure shows a balanced picture of trade, services, crafts and manufacturing. Craft businesses and retailers often represent traditionally rooted contact points for everyday needs in the districts, but companies from the areas of knowledge-based, business-related services and the creative industries have also found their home in Remseck.
A good economic structure, combined with Remseck's idyllic location directly at the confluence of the Neckar and Rems, as well as a high level of living comfort, active club life and comprehensive childcare options, give the location its very special charm and attractiveness as a location with a high quality of life.
