The town of Kirchheim am Neckar, which emerged in early Merovingian times, is now a community with around 5.000 inhabitants in which industry, commerce and agriculture have their place. The community is best known for its viticulture on the beautiful and warm steep slopes on the Neckar, where the famous Swabian Trollinger grows.
Key aspects of the municipal work over the last two decades have been the development of 20 hectares of residential building land and 14 hectares of commercial space.
Thanks to good transport connections - the B 27 runs through Kirchheim and the Deutsche Bahn AG trains stop here 90 times a day - the town has developed into a real retail center: from the tile hardware store to the camping giant Herzog to the multi-store. The Kriegbaum Group market and a Miele kitchen studio have everything here. Since 1997, the formerly free Reichsdorf between the Neckar and the Stromberg slopes has even been accessible by ship.
Kirchheim am Neckar offers its residents many types of leisure facilities. Cultural life takes place in the culture and club center, which was rebuilt in 1987/88 and also houses the local library.
