The “Monopteros” architectural station on the edge of the forest above Winterbach can be reached on foot from the Winterbach S-Bahn station after about 1,5 kilometers. From there you have a great view over the surrounding vineyards and orchards. A “Monopteros” is a round building with columns and an open interior that looks like an ancient temple.
If you want to explore the area further, you can continue to the Juliusquelle with its water treading pool for Kneipp and, after cooling off, hike along the Engelberg panoramic path along the edge of the forest.
