Map of the Stuttgart Region
 Around 2.7 million people live and work in the Stuttgart Region, and 600,000 of them are residents of its capital city. The five counties surrounding the City of Stuttgart account for the lion's share of the region's economic strength. Commuters benefit from an excellent public transport system, which includes highly efficient regional and urban rail systems – all towns and rural districts are integrated into this network, reducing the amount of traffic on the roads.
