Funded by the EU, and aimed at unskilled and low-skilled women, the pioneering Mentoring and Training (M&Q) project is unique in Germany. Its aim is to motivate the target group to acquire new skills that can lessen the risk of future unemployment. The initiative also enables participating companies to enhance the skills of their existing workforce. In addition to training, M&Q includes mentoring to help women overcome low confidence. Initially confined to the Stuttgart Region, the project was extended in 2004 to cover the entire state of Baden-Württemberg.
